Kabul: In yet another act of aggression, Pakistani military on Monday carried out cross-border attacks at Afghanistan, using missiles and heavy artillery, and leaving at least 13 dead and over 130 injured, including women and children.
A missile hit the complex of Sayed Jamaluddin Afghan University in Kunar province, bordering Pakistan, in which 30 students and professors were injured and the building damaged to a large extent, according to a statement issued by Afghan Ministry of Education.
According to reports, Pakistan military carried out missile and artillery attacks at various places in Kunar Province, including areas of Marawara, Asadabad, Sarkano, and Kerhala.
Besides the University complext, the sites reportedly hit included residential areas, fuel storage facilities and education offices.
Local reports said at least 13 people, including women and children, have been killed, and around 130 others wounded in the Pakistani attacks.
The latest aggression by Pakistan comes about 5 weeks after it agreed to a ceasefire with Afghanistan following intense clashes which lasted nearly a month.
The ceasefire, on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr on March 18, came after intervention by countries like China, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
Before the ceasefire, Pakistani military carried out a series of air strikes, one of which targeted a Drug Rehabilitation Center in Afghanistan capital Kabul. It left hundreds of patients, doctors and other staff dead or injured.
Pakistan has off and on been targeting various places of Afghanistan ostensibly to hit locations of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants, even as the Taliban regime in Kabul has been denying any such existence in the territories under their control.
