New Delhi, May 2 (NVI): Rajnath Singh on Saturday said the unmatched valour and indomitable spirit of the Indian Armed Forces have made Operation Sindoor a golden chapter in the country’s military history, while reiterating the government’s firm resolve to eliminate terrorism.
Addressing an event titled ‘Shaurya’ in the national capital ahead of the first anniversary of the operation, Singh paid tributes to the defence personnel for their courage, dedication and patriotism.
He said the ethos of “Nation First” and “Service Before Self” has defined India’s military traditions from ancient times to contemporary operations like Operation Sindoor.
Highlighting the broader role of the armed forces, the Defence Minister said their valour extends beyond the battlefield, noting that they act as first responders during natural disasters, both in India and abroad, providing humanitarian assistance including food and medical aid.
Referring to the cultural segment of the event, Singh said valour and art complement each other, as both are powerful expressions of human emotions. He added that marching songs by military bands help transform individual identity into collective strength, reinforcing unity among soldiers.
The event saw participation from top defence officials, personnel and noted artists including Anup Jalota, Kailash Kher, Harshdeep Kaur and Manoj Muntashir.
Among those present were Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Air Staff A. P. Singh, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Vice Chief of the Army Staff Dhiraj Seth.(NVI)
