Srinagar, Jun 29 (NVI): Security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the Warpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir on Monday, officials said.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Army, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF launched the operation in the village, the officials said.
During the search, the forces recovered one AK-47 rifle, three hand grenades, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) and 30 rounds of ammunition concealed at the site, they said.
The recovered arms and ammunition have been seized and a case has been registered. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the weapons and the intended recipients, the officials added.—(NVI)
