Srinagar, Jul 31 (NVI): A policeman was injured after his service rifle accidentally went off in the Kokernag area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday, officials said.
The injured policeman, identified as Mohammad Altaf, sustained a bullet injury to his foot after the accidental discharge of his service weapon, the officials said.
He was initially taken to Sub-District Hospital Kokernag and later referred to Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, for specialised treatment.
Officials said his condition is stable and further details are awaited.(NVI)
