Srinagar, Aug 27 (NVI): An Army soldier drowned in the Kishanganga River near Tarbal village in Gurez area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Ashiq Hussain Khan.
A rescue operation was launched following the incident, and the soldier’s body was subsequently recovered from the river, officials said.
The body was shifted to Dawar Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the soldier’s drowning.(NVI)
