Jammu, Sep 4 (NVI) An Army soldier died after falling from a forward post along the Line of Control in the Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Friday, officials said.
Lance Naik Rituk Choudhary, 26, who had completed seven years of service, fell from the post towards a downhill ridge, they said.
He was evacuated to the MI Room at Rumlidhara, where he was declared dead at around 3:08 am, the officials said.
His body is currently kept at the ADS Hospital, while legal proceedings are underway, they said.
Choudhary hailed from Uklada in Sonagarh tehsil of Gujarat’s Tapi district, according to the officials.—(NVI)
