IMPHAL, Sept 7 (NVI): Security forces detected and neutralised an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing around 10 kg in a forest area of Manipur’s Churachandpur district, officials said on Monday.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, troops of the Spear Corps detected the IED in the South Thanjing forest area, they said.
The explosive was subsequently neutralised, averting a potential threat to civilians and security personnel and ensuring safe movement in the area, officials said.
The timely operation underscored the security forces’ efforts to maintain peace and security in Manipur, they added.—(NVI)
