Baramulla, Sep 23 (NVI) :Police on Wednesday attached a double-storeyed residential property in Namblan village of Sheeri under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in connection with a terror-related case, officials said.
The property, belonging to an accused in FIR No. 37/2026 registered at Sheeri police station, was attached under Section 25 of the UAPA, they said.
The case has been registered under various provisions of the Arms Act and the UAPA, including those relating to terror activities, conspiracy and support to terrorist organisations, officials said.
During investigation, the property was prima facie found to have been used for providing shelter and logistical support to terrorists and facilitating terrorist activities, they said.
The action was taken after requisite approval from the Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, conveyed through an order dated September 22, officials said.
A public notice was also displayed at the property, prohibiting its sale, transfer, lease, mortgage or creation of any third-party interest, they said.
The attachment is part of the police action aimed at dismantling the logistical and support infrastructure of terror networks in the region, officials said.—(NVI)
