TTP claims killing 16 Pakistani security personnel in multiple attacks

Peshawar, Oct 3 (NVI) Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed to have killed more than 16 personnel of Pakistani forces and injured several others in 14 operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Provinces in two days.

The biggest attack was carried out in North Waziristan district, with a military convoy being ambushed in Garium area on October 1.

At least 7 personnel of the Pakistani military were killed and several others injured in the attack in which 2 military vehicles were also destroyed completely, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said.

The TTP lost two members during this attack.

In another incident in Garium, a Pakistani military official was killed in a laser gun attack on a military post yesterday, he said.

One more military official was killed in a guerrilla operation in Mir Ali in North Wazirstan district, he said, adding there is a possibility of more casualties.

In South Waziristan district, a Pakistani military official was killed in a sniper attack on a fort in Sirwakai.

A Pakistani military official was killed in a sniper attack on a military post located in Shirin Dara area of Kalayah in Orakzai district, the spokesman said.

A Police Havaldar was killed in a targeted attack on GT Road in Peshawar district during the intervening night of October 1 and 2, he said.

Another police officer on duty was killed in an operation by a target killer squad of the TTP in Jandola in Tank district.

TTP also carried out a big attack, using heavy weapons, on a military post set up in a school in Gakti area of Wada Mahmond in Bajaur district during the intervening night of October 1 and 2.

“There is a strong possibility of loss of life and property in the attack,” the TTP spokesman said.

Justifying the attack, Khorasani said, “The evil (Pakistan) army that is against Islam has set up posts in schools, hospitals and people’s homes.”

In Punjab province, TTP killed 3 police personnel in two separate attacks in Dera Ghazi Khan. (NVI)
