Srinagar, Oct 3 (NVI) : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and Additional Secretary (Foreigners and UT), Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Nitesh Vyas on Saturday reviewed the implementation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and progress of ongoing developmental projects across the Union Territory.
The high-level meeting, held at the SKICC here, focused on time-bound execution of projects, effective monitoring, utilisation of funds and ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach eligible beneficiaries, officials said.
Dulloo stressed the need for an outcome-oriented approach to the implementation of CSS and flagship programmes, saying the focus should not only be on achieving physical targets but also on ensuring sustained and measurable benefits for people.
He directed departments to prioritise timely completion of ongoing projects, optimal utilisation of funds and saturation of eligible beneficiaries under various welfare and development schemes.
The Chief Secretary also called for regular field-level monitoring and periodic assessment to identify implementation gaps at an early stage and take corrective measures.
Vyas emphasised timely implementation, inter-departmental coordination, optimal utilisation of resources and regular monitoring of centrally sponsored schemes. He also stressed the need to address bottlenecks and ensure that government initiatives reach intended beneficiaries effectively.
The meeting reviewed a wide range of schemes and projects covering education, skill development, power, digital connectivity, social security, nutrition, urban and rural housing, sanitation, health, tourism, fisheries, drinking water and inland waterways.
Among the schemes reviewed were Samagra Shiksha, PM SHRI Schools, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, PM-SETU, PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana, smart metering and projects under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme.
The progress of BharatNet Phase-III, aimed at strengthening digital connectivity and expanding broadband infrastructure, was also reviewed.
In the social sector, the meeting assessed implementation of schemes including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and POSHAN 2.0.
Officials also reviewed AMRUT 2.0, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban, Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban, Ayushman Bharat Digital Health, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, PM-JAY, National Health Mission and TB Mukt Bharat.
The progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, Swadesh Darshan, PRASHAD, PM-eBus, fisheries schemes, Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin and Jal Jeevan Mission was also discussed.
The meeting further examined the development of inland waterways and related infrastructure, including terminals, jetties and navigational facilities, wherever feasible.
Later, Dulloo and Vyas held another meeting to review the implementation of the new criminal laws and the new legal framework relating to immigration and foreigners management across Jammu and Kashmir.—(NVI)
