Budgam, Oct 4 (NVI) : A bag containing medicines and eatables, suspected to have been meant for slain Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Hashim Moosa, has been recovered near the site of an encounter in Doodhpathri area of Budgam district, police said on Sunday.
The recovery was made from the vicinity of Palmaidan, where Moosa was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces on September 29, they said.
Police said the recovery is being examined as part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the presence of the slain terrorist in the area and the possible network that provided him logistical support.
Investigators are probing the origin of the items, how they reached the location and the possible involvement of overground workers and other associates, police said.
The recovery is part of the investigation in connection with FIR No. 181/2026 registered at Khansahib police station under relevant provisions of law, they said.
Further investigation is underway to identify and establish the role of those allegedly linked to the suspected logistical support network, police added.—(NVI)
