Kabul, Oct 17 (NVI) Border clashes erupted again today between Afghanistan and Pakistan after the latter carried out shelling of Afghan areas in Paktia province.

Pakistani forces fired dozens of rockets at civilian areas and a local market known as Chapari in Paktia earlier today in an unprovoked action.

The Afghan forces retaliated on the border called Durand Line, resulted in two-way clashes.

According to reports, clashes are going on between Afghan forces and Pakistani troops along the Durand Line in Dand Patan district of Paktia province, with both sides using light and heavy weapons.

Some reports said 2 Pakistani soldiers have been killed, and a Pakistani surveillance camera has been destroyed.

Pakistan has often provoked a conflict with Afghanistan by resorting to cross-border attacks, including aerial strikes, which have killed hundreds of Afghan civilians, including children and women.

Only yesterday, Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Russia told an international conference in Moscow that Pakistan was a source of threat to safety, security and stability of the region. (NVI)
