Quetta, Oct 22 (NVI) Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) tonight launched a major assault on the Pakistani military in Gwadar, attacking its multiple installations including an Army camp and claiming to have killed and injured several soldiers.

A large group of BLF fighters, including female fighters, continue to be engaged in the operation hours after it began with a suicide bomber detonating his vehicle laden with explosives at the gate of the Pakistani military’s Frontier Works Organization (FWO).

The huge blast paved the way for his associates to storm the complex and target the personnel inside.

The BLF fighters also targeted the Gwadar Zero Point, the border station with Iran, and hoisted Balochistan’s national flag there, according to the outfit’s spokesman Major Gwahram Baloch.

The BLF fighters also took complete control of the Muzhani police station and seized all official weapons and military equipment from there, while one police official was also killed during the clash, he said.

Additionally, at Gubd, a convoy of the occupying army was attacked, as a result of which one army vehicle was completely destroyed and several personnel aboard were killed or wounded. The police checkpoint at Gubd Cross is also under the control of our fighters, the spokesman said.

The BLF has named the operation as ‘Almas’ after a female fighter who is part of the group that carried out the attack.

“Several army personnel have been killed so far,” the spokesman said in his latest statement issued a few minutes back.

A Military Intelligence (MI) Captain and several personnel of the Special Services Group (SSG) are among those killed by the BLF fighters, he said.

He said the operation is “still underway with full intensity and success” and the BLF fighters “have begun a comprehensive search operation inside the main camp of the Frontier Works Organization, while the occupying army’s bunkers, inner barracks and administrative offices are being completely destroyed with explosives.”

He said the Pakistani military’s reinforcement convoys coming to the aid of the entrapped Pakistan Army soldiers are also being continuously targeted by BLF snipers.

He added that after suffering losses in the repeated attacks by BLF fighters, “frightened soldiers of the occupying army are firing mortar shells at the FWO main camp from a far distance.”

Major Baloch said that “Failure and defeat are the fate of the Pakistan Army” and the BLF fighters will continue the operation until the objectives are achieved.

At the Rimdan-Jiwani Border transit point with Iran, the BLF fighters attacked ‘Trade Gate 250’, setting dozens of trucks carrying fresh fruit on fire.

The spokesman identified the ‘fidayeen’ (suicide bomber) as Mujahid Mehr alias Sagar Zamarani, saying his “historic sacrifice” cleared the way into the enemy camp for fellow fighters.

Sagar Zamurani carried out the attack with an explosive-laden vehicle on the enemy’s fortified military camp, broke through the enemy’s defensive perimeter, cleared the camp’s entrance, and made the path of advance open for other fighters, the BLF spokesman said.

Balochistan Liberation Front pays tribute to this immortal and great sacrifice  Sagar Zamurani with full reverence and respect, the spokesman said. (NVI)
