Saroj Khan passes away at 71

New Delhi (NVI): The veteran Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan passed away early morning today, at the age of 71 due to cardiac arrest, her last rites will be performed at Malvani in Malad.

Saroj Khan was been admitted to the Guru Nanak Hospital in Mumbai on June 20 after complained of difficulty in breathing. Her COVID-19 test was done which turned out negative.

The three-time National Award winner had choreographed some of the most memorable songs in Hindi cinema.

Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter and paid their last respects to the late choreographer.

Sharing a heartfelt tweet on the death of her friend and guru, Madhuri Dixit wrote, “I’m devastated by the loss of my friend and guru, Saroj Khan. Will always be grateful for her work in helping me reach my full potential in dance. The world has lost an amazingly talented person. I will miss you.. My sincere condolences to the family. #RIPSarojji”

Amitabh Bachchan also paid respect to Saroj Khan and wrote on Twitter, “Prayers. Haath jude hain, man ashaant.”

Farah Khan also tweeted, “Rest in peace Sarojji.. u were an inspiration to many, myself included. Thank you for the songs. #SarojKhan”

Saroj Khan has choreographed famous dance numbers like ‘Ek Do Teen’, ‘Hum Ko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar’, ‘Dhak Dhak Karne Laga’. ‘Nimbooda’ and ‘Dola Re Dola’.

The last song to be choreographed by her in Bollywood was ‘Tabaah Ho Gaye’ starring Madhuri Dixit, from movie Kalank.
