New Delhi (NVI): Actor Irrfan Khan, known for his roles in films like ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ and ‘Maqbool’, passed away today at the age of 53.
Khan had been unwell for a long time and was hospitalised after being diagnosed with colon infection earlier this week. He was being treated at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
Director Shoojit Sircar, paying tribute to the late actor said, “You fought and fought”.
“My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute,” he tweeted.

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar and Delhi Chief Minister also paid tributes to Khan.
