New Delhi (NVI): 110 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, taking the tally of total confirmed cases to 1,939, according to Afghan media.
58 new cases have been reported from Kabul alone. Kandahar reported 15 cases, Paktia 12, Ghazni 6, Nangarhar 5, Laghman 5, Takhar 3, Farah 3, Helmand 2 and Kunduz 1, According to the Afghan Ministry of Health.
25 out of 51 samples were tested positive for COVID-19 in Kandahar city in the past 24 hours, Mohammad Ashraf Naderi, the head of Kandahar’s health department was quoted as saying by the Afghan health ministry. This brings the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Kandahar to 256.
So far, the country’s death toll due to the virus stands at 60, with 252 recoveries.
