Afghanistan’s corona cases reach 555

New Delhi (NVI): A total of 34 new coronavirus cases were reported in Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, raising the total to 555, according to the country’s Ministry of Public Health.

Among the new cases, 8 were in Kabul, 8 in Herat, 5 in Kandahar, 4 in Nimroz, 4 in Wardak, 2 in Balkh, one in Ghor, one in Baghlan and one in Badghis.

Earlier, some local media reports said at least 20 employees of the Presidential Palace in Afghanistan had tested positive for COVID-19 out of 517 samples examined.

Meanwhile, all Afghan cities, including the national capital Kabul, have been in lockdown over the past couple of weeks.

So far, 18 people have died due to the COVID-19 and 37 others have recovered since the outbreak across the country.
