AFMS to import oxygen generation plants from Germany

New Delhi (NVI): Amid reports of shortage of oxygen in the hospitals during the second wave of Covid across the country, the Armed Forces Medical Services has decided to import oxygen generation plants and containers from Germany to cater to the shortage. 23 mobile oxygen generation plants are being airlifted from Germany.

Mobile oxygen generation plants will be deployed in the Armed Forces Medical Services hospitals catering to the COVID patients.

These oxygen generating plants are expected within a week.

In another crucial development, the Ministry of Defence has decided to give extension to Short Service Commissioned (SSC) doctors in AFMS till Dec 31 to tide over current surge in medical services. “This will augment strength of AFMS by 238 more doctors,” as per an official statement.
