The PSX building, which also houses the head offices of many private banks, is a high-security zone. It is located on Karachi’s I.I. Chundrigar Road, also known as Pakistan’s Wall Street.
The attackers came at around 10 am in a car and started lobbing grenades at the main gate, according to reports. People inside the PSX building were evacuated from the back door.
According to an amateur video captured by an eyewitness, the gunmen were carrying automatic weapons. The equipment, arms and ammunition recovered from them indicated that they had come prepared for a long siege, reported Geo News.
