Srinagar, Aug 19 (NVI):- The annual Amarnath Yatra concluded today with the traditional ‘Chhari Mubarak’ (holy mace) starting its final leg from Panchtarni to the Amarnath cave shrine.

This marks the culmination of the pilgrimage, which saw nearly five lakh pilgrims from across the country paying obeisance at the sacred cave dedicated to Lord Shiva.

The Chhari Mubarak, carried by Mahant Deependra Giri, the custodian of the holy mace, began its journey early this morning, accompanied by a group of sadhus and devotees. The procession will cover the distance from Panchtarni to the cave, where special prayers will be offered.

Despite the challenging weather conditions and the difficult terrain, this year’s pilgrimage witnessed an overwhelming number of devotees, reflecting the deep spiritual significance of the Amarnath Yatra.

The annual event is considered one of the holiest pilgrimages in Hinduism, with the cave housing the naturally formed ice lingam of Lord Shiva.

Security forces and local administration made extensive arrangements to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the Yatra
The successful conclusion of the Yatra without any incident has been hailed as a significant achievement by both the security agencies and the administration.

As the Yatra concludes, the focus will now shift to dismantling the temporary facilities and ensuring the safe return of the pilgrims who are still on their way back.

The authorities have expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the Yatra and thanked the pilgrims for their cooperation throughout the journey. (News Vibes of India)
