Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) tonight said it killed and injured an unspecified number of Pakistani soldiers in an attack on a military convoy in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The ambush was carried out in the afternoon in Loni area of Kulachi in DI Khan, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said in a statement.

In the attack, 3 military vehicles and a tank of the convoy were targeted, he said.

Soldiers were killed and injured while a drone camera used for spying was shot down, the spokesman said.

In another statement, Khurasani said the Pakistan Army today killed 2 Mujahideen in a fake encounter in Swat, days after arresting them.

Yesterday, the Swat police announced the arrest of two mujahideen and presented them before the media, he said.

“Today, they martyred the same mujahideen and released their photos and reported that there was an attack on the police and three Mujahideen were killed in response.

“There is no truth in the news of the attack. These are the same Mujahideen who were arrested a few days ago and today were martyred in a fake encounter,” he said.
