Imphal, Oct 11 (NVI) Security forces, in coordination with Manipur Police, arrested an active cadre of a banned organisation in Manipur’s Imphal East district and recovered three weapons, ammunition and other stores, the Army said.
In a separate operation, Assam Rifles apprehended a Myanmar national who was allegedly attempting to enter India illegally in Mizoram’s Champhai district and recovered a weapon and ammunition from him, it said.
Both operations were conducted under the aegis of the Army’s Spear Corps.
The operations highlighted coordination between security forces and police agencies in strengthening peace and security in the northeastern region, the Army said.—(NVI)
