Arms and ammunition recovered in J&K’s Rajouri

Rajouri (NVI): Security Forces in Jammu and Kashmir have recovered arms and ammunition in Rajouri district today.

According to a police official, a search operation was launched by Army and Police in Chikakhet forest area Khawas Tehsil of Rajouri district.

“During the operation war-like stores were recovered. It included one AK 47 rifle, three magazines of AK 47, 94 rounds of AK 47 ammunition,” the official said.

Apart from this, two Chinese pistols, two Chinese pistol magazines, eight rounds of pistol ammunition, five UBGL grenades, one Kenwood radio set and three radio set antennae were also recovered from the area.

The official said this search operation has foiled the attempt of militant organizations to revive militancy in Rajouri and adjacent districts.

Furthermore, he said that, the timely recovery of huge cache of arms and ammunition has thwarted any possible untoward incident in otherwise peaceful region and has scuttled the nefarious plans of militant outfits to try derailing peace and harmony in the region south of Pir Panjal ranges.
