New Delhi, Sep 24 (NVI) : The Indian Army has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras to promote indigenisation of critical modules of weapon systems and strengthen operational readiness, the Army said.
The initiative, aligned with the Army’s “JAI se VIJAY” mission, aims to enhance indigenous repair and sustenance capabilities, reduce dependence on imported spares and address issues related to obsolescence, it said.
The collaboration will focus on indigenous research, innovation and technology development to support self-reliance in defence.
The MoU also marks an effort to strengthen collaboration between the Army and academia and develop indigenous technological solutions for defence requirements, the Army said.—(NVI)
