Srinagar, Apr 6 (NVI): In a tragic incident, an Army Jawan lost his life after sustaining critical injuries in an accidental discharge of his service weapon at a military camp in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on last night.
The deceased has been identified as Jagdeep (24). The incident took place inside an Army camp in the Qalamabad area.
Following the accidental firing, the Jawan was immediately rushed to a hospital in Handwara. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to the 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Despite efforts by medical teams, he succumbed to his injuries, officials confirmed.
The circumstances leading to the accidental discharge are being looked into.(NVI)
