Srinagar, Aug 17 (NVI) : In a tragic incident, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Jammu and Kashmir Police died after he was found unconscious when he was on duty.
The ASI Mohammad Shafi, who hailed from Yaripora in Kulgam, was presently attached to Police Station Ahmad Nagar Srinagar.
Shafi was immediately rushed to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura. Despite the swift response, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.
Following the completion of medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to his legal heirs for the last rites.
The police have initiated proceedings and investigation has been taken up. (News Vibes of India)
