Srinagar, Apr 4 (NVI): Authorities in Ganderbal have issued an avalanche advisory for the next 24 hours, urging people to remain alert and avoid movement in high-risk areas following a forecast of medium-intensity avalanches.
An official order in view of the Avalanche Forecast indicating MEDIUM INTENSITY above 2400 meters in District Ganderbal for the next 24 hours, the general public is hereby advised to remain highly vigilant.”
The order further states, “People are strictly advised to avoid venturing into avalanche-prone areas, including slopes, hilly terrain, and higher reaches, until further orders are issued by the competent authorities.”
It also appeals to residents, tourists and nomadic communities to adhere to the advisory and cooperate with the administration in the interest of safety.
