Quetta, July 26 (NVI) Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed to have killed 9 Pakistani soldiers and injured several others while losing one of their freedom fighters in an intense clash in Kalat district of Pakistan-occupied Balochistan today.
The armed clash took place early in the morning in Kohak area of Kalat when a contingent of the Pakistan Army tried to make an advance, BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said in a statement.
The Army contingent was ambushed by the freedom fighters, triggering a gunfight that last more than 40 minutes, he said.
At least 9 personnel of the occupying Pakistani army were eliminated on the spot, while several injured personnel escaped, the spokesman said.
“The occupying army has been trying to make an advance in Kohak and surrounding areas for the past 5 days but it has suffered heavy losses due to the strong strategy of Baloch Liberation Army freedom fighters,” he said.
In these clashes, BLA freedom fighter Sohaib Baloch alias Ameer Bakhsh attained martyrdom, the spokesman said.
Paying tributes to the fallen freedom fighter, the spokesman said, “Martyr Sohaib Baloch was a brave, courageous and principled comrade who participated in many important operations in his short but determined revolutionary life. He was not only a brave soldier but also a conscious revolutionary worker whose commitment to the ideology of the movement remained unwavering.”
He said Sohaib Baloch “remained on the front line even in the last battle and dealt effective blows to the occupying army and caused severe damage to the enemy. His bravery and sacrifice are a shining example not only for the Kalat front but also for the entire national movement.” (NVI)
