Quetta: At least 5 Pakistani security personnel were killed and 5 were injured after a group of rebels stormed a camp of paramilitary force Frontier Corps in Balochistan.
Intense exchange of fire continued through the day after the attack started in morning at Muslim Bagh area of Qilla Saifullah district.
Pakistani military was struggling to fight the attackers who continued to hold ground inside the premises.
Military spokesperson ISPR, in a statement in the evening, confirmed that the attackers were still inside the building complex.
“Currently, operation by the Security Forces is underway to capture the terrorists who have been cornered into a building complex…. Heavy exchange of fire is underway,” it said.
The attack has been claimed by a newly-surfaced organization, Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan (TJP).
