New Delhi (NVI): Schools in Bihar reopened today for students of classes 6 to 8, nearly ten months after educational institutions were shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bihar government also issued the standard operating procedures (SOP) under which schools need to strictly follow COVID-19 protocol.

As per the SOPs, wearing masks and maintaining social distancing will be compulsory for students and teachers inside the campus. The schools have also been asked to conduct random medical tests of students and teachers to check for any COVID-19 symptoms

Earlier on January 4, the state government had resumed classes for 9 to 12 and colleges too resumed for students across Bihar.

Apart from this, the states of Odisha, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand are also reopening their schools today for students of more classes while taking all the COVID-19 precautions.
