Jammu, Sep 1 (NVI) : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national General Secretary and in-charge Jammu and Kashmir, Tarun Chug said that National Conference was a confused party full of hypocrites and that the J&K will have BJP Chief Minister post Assembly polls.
He made these comments yesterday evening at Jammu.
“This party first imposed ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and now they are welcoming its participation in the polls. Isn’t this a vote bank politics full of deception,” Chug said while talking to reporters in Jammu.
He said that party leader Omar Abdullah had made it clear that he won’t contest in the assembly elections till the restoration of Statehood, but now he is contesting from Ganderbal. “What can people expect from a party which doesn’t stick to its own statements,” he asked.
Chug said that the party has been misleading people in the name Article 370. “First, the party promises restoration of Article 370 in its manifesto and at the same time NC chief Dr Farooq Abdulalh states that it would take even 100 years to restore it,” he said.
About restoration of J&K’s statehood, he said it was the party’s top priority. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured the people that after the assembly elections, when the situation normalizes, statehood will be reinstated,” he said.
Chug is the party’s key leader who along with the Union Minister G K Reddy, is camping in Jammu. The duo addressed a series of press conferences in the past one week and fired salvos against Abdullah’s and Mufti’s, holding these two parties responsible the “mess in Kashmir” since past seven decades.
Chug further said that the party is confident of winning majority of seats in Jammu and Kashmir and form the next government. “For the first time, Jammu and Kashmir will have a chief minister from the BJP as the party is strong enough to defeat its rivals, who are even in alliance to face the BJP candidates,” he said.
It may be recalled that Chug had dared Omar and Mehbooba to have an open debate on what has changed in J&K post abrogation of Article 370 in J&K. However, he didn’t get any response. (News Vibes of India)
