Srinagar, Nov 08(NVI) : In a heated session on Friday, the majority of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators were forcefully removed from the legislative assembly after attempting to disrupt proceedings.
The chaos ensued when the BJP members demanded a reversal of a resolution passed concerning the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident occurred during the speech of National Conference (NC) MLA Javid Beg, where nearly 12 BJP MLAs stormed into the well of the house, chanting slogans in protest.
The Speaker, Abdur Rahim Rather, ordered the marshals to remove the protesting BJP members and instructed that they should not be permitted to re-enter the assembly.
Following the ejection of their colleagues, the remaining 11 BJP legislators chose to stage a walkout in solidarity and protest against the Speaker’s decision.
The uproar reflects the ongoing tension over the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the political divide and the contentious atmosphere in the assembly. (News Vibes of India)
