Jammu, Sep 29 (NVI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today suspended three of its leaders on the recommendations of party’s disciplinary committee for their anti party activities.
The development comes close on the heels of massive rally by former BJP leader Pawan Khajuria, an independent candidate from Udhampur East. Khajuria, former BJP state vice president, decided to contest as an independent candidate after being denied the party ticket. His recent rally drew a massive crowd, prompting the BJP to take swift action against party members supporting his campaign.
The suspended leaders, who were openly campaigning for Khajuria and even organizing stage events for him, faced immediate removal from the party. This move comes as the BJP attempts to maintain party discipline and control the narrative in the crucial Udhampur East constituency. The suspensions highlight the impact of Khajuria’s independent bid and the challenges faced by the BJP in managing internal dissent during the election season.
As per the notice issued by Sat Paul Sharma , the BJP State Working President for J&K-UT, three party officials have been suspended with immediate effect. The suspended members are Amit Sharma, DDC Majalta; Prakshit Singh, DDC Jaganu; and Swarn Singh Rathore, District Vice President, BJP Udhampur.(News Vibes of India)
