New Delhi (NVI): Baloch freedom fighters today targeted a personnel carrier vehicle of Pakistani Rangers in Orangi town of Karachi with a remote-controlled IED in which a Ranger official was killed while several others were injured.
Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) spokesperson, Jeeyand Baloch, has claimed the responsibility of the attack, saying that “the enemy forces received significant losses in the attack.”
“BLA freedom fighters today targeted a personnel carrier vehicle of Pakistani force Rangers in Orangi town of Karachi area with a remote-controlled IED. The enemy forces received significant losses in the attack,” BLA spokesman said in a statement.
According to Pakistan daily Dawn, 10 people including 2 Rangers were injured in the “motor-bike fitted bomb blast”.
The attack comes a day after the BLA targeted a Pakistani military outpost at Jafari, an area between Mach and Margat in Balochistan, and killed a Pak military soldier while injuring several others in the attack.
Notably, Baloch rebels have stepped up their offensive against the Pakistani forces and state authorities as part of BLA’s efforts of defending Balochistan against sheer exploitation of the province’s resources by Pakistan and China in the garb of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
