The Ministry of External Affairs statement comes a day after international pop icon Rihanna posted a tweet asking why no one is talking about farmers protests in India.
“The temptation of sensationalist social media hashtags and comments, especially when resorted to by celebrities and others, is neither accurate nor responsible,” MEA said in a statement today.
Actor Sunil Shetty also reacted to statements by foreign celebrities on farmers’ protest. “We must always take a comprehensive view of things, as there is nothing more dangerous than half truth,” he tweeted.
