Brigadier Deepak Sajjanhar, visited various locations in Ladakh on Friday for an extensive inspection and engagement tour.
In a statement, Defence spokesperson said that Deepak Sajjanhar commenced his visit by conducting the Annual Inspection of 1 Ladakh Battalion NCC, where he was received with an impressive Guard of Honour.
The Commanding Officer briefed Brigadier Sajjanhar on the unit’s operations, training activities, and other pertinent aspects and following the inspection, Brigadier Sajjanhar reviewed the preparations for printing of ‘C’ Certificate Exam question papers.
He also engaged with the JCOs, Permanent Instructional (PI) staff and civilian personnel of the unit to discuss administrative & operational matters, he said.
“Moving forward in his itinerary, Brigadier Sajjanhar visited EJM College Leh, where he met with the principal to discuss NCC-related activities. He commended the college for its significant contributions to the NCC program. During his visit, he attended a cultural program organized by institutions in Leh, where he honoured three cadets who successfully summited Mt Kang Yatse II as part of an NCC expedition.” He added.
Brigadier Sajjanhar also interacted with NCC cadets from various schools gathered at EJM College. He delivered a motivational address emphasizing how NCC training instills resilience and equips cadets to overcome challenges in life. He praised the cadets for their exemplary work and dedication.
Further in his tour, Brigadier Sajjanhar met with the Commanding Officer and Administrative Officer of the newly established 2 Ladakh Battalion NCC.
He also engaged with Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) and Care Taker Officers (CTOs) from Leh district, discussing their concerns and emphasizing their crucial role as the bridge between cadets and the NCC unit.
During a pivotal meeting with Secretary YS&S Ladakh, Mr Vikram Malik, Brigadier Sajjanhar discussed expediting the construction of the NCC Training Academy at Phyang. The discussion was productive, with both parties expressing a commitment to accelerate the construction process for early completion. Brigadier Sajjanhar also sought administrative support from Secretary Malik for the newly raising 2 Ladakh Battalion in Kargil, receiving assurances of cooperation.
