British foreign secretary to visit India from Dec 14-17

New Delhi (NVI): British foreign and commonwealth secretary Dominic Raab will begin a four-day visit to India from December 14 to 17, the Ministry of External Affairs said today.

In New Delhi, during the visit, Raab will hold talks with Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on December 15 to discuss on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.

He will have official meetings with the Minister of Environment, Prakash Javadekar and the Minister of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal, the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement.

As part of his four-day visit, Raab will also travel to Bengaluru where he will meet the Chief Minister of Karnataka on December 17.

Since 2004, India and UK enjoy a strategic partnership which has been marked by regular high level exchanges and growing cooperation in diverse areas, the ministry further said.

This visit of UK foreign secretary will pave the way for further strengthening of the partnership across trade, defence, climate, migration and mobility, education and health sectors in the post-Covid, post-Brexit context, the MEA added.
