BSF Head Constable Dies by Suicide in Karnataka

Karnataka , Mar 6 (NVI): A Border Security Force (BSF) head constable allegedly died by suicide after firing from a service weapon at a camp in Karnataka on Friday morning, officials said.

Head Constable (GD) M. Thangapandi of the 103 Battalion allegedly snatched a service rifle from a woman constable who was on duty at the magazine morcha and fired a shot, resulting in his death on the spot, officials said.

The incident occurred at around 6:25 am. Doctors later confirmed him dead.

Officials said the exact circumstances and reasons that led to the incident are yet to be ascertained.

Police have been informed and SHO Vishwanathpura is reaching the spot to initiate further legal proceedings, officials added.—(NVI)
