New Delhi (NVI): The Supreme Court today ordered CBI investigation into Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, asking the Mumbai police to hand over all evidence it has collected to the investigating agency.

The apex court said the FIR registered in Patna based on a complaint filed by Sushant Singh’s father was correct and Bihar was competent to ask the CBI to investigate the case.

Sushant was found dead at his apartment in Mumbai on June 14. The Mumbai Police had ruled it as a suicide and began an investigation. The Patna Police began a separate investigation on the basis of Sushant’s father’s FIR. This led to a turf war between the two police forces.

Rhea Chakraborty, filed a petition in the SC, seeking a transfer of the case from Patna to Mumbai. The apex court has now ruled that the investigation will be taken over by the CBI.

After the Supreme Court’s order, Sushant sister Shweta Singh Kirti welcomed the decision and tweeted, “Thank you God! You have answered our prayers!! But it is just the beginning… the first step towards the truth! Full faith on CBI!! #Victoryoffaith #GlobalPrayersForSSR #Wearefamily #CBITakesOver.”

Many actors from the Bollywood fraternity also lauded the apex court’s decision including Akshay Kumar, Ankita Lokhande, Parineeti Chopra, Anupam Kher among many others.
