New Delhi (NVI): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today released the date sheet of classes 10 and 12 board examinations, which are scheduled to be held from May 4 to June 10.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank took to Twitter and released the date sheet through a video message saying, “Please be assured that we have done our best to ensure that these exams go smoothly for you.”

He wished the students good luck with the exams, adding that there is plenty of time for the students to prepare.

CBSE also issued  guidelines, details of shifts and other updates for the students and teachers.

Taking to Twitter, CBSE said, “CBSE has released the date sheet for both Class-X and XII for boards examinations-2021. Date Sheet has been released nearly 3 months before so that students can make their study plan and overcome the problems faced during pandemic.”

In another tweet, the Board said, “Class-XII examinations would be conducted in 2 shifts to reduce the no. of days in conducting examinations. The second shift, examinations will be conducted in subjects which are not offered by the students in schools situated abroad.”

CBSE will conduct examinations in 75 subjects in class-X and in 111 subjects in class-XII.

“Sufficient time has been given between the examinations of two main subjects in both classes X & XII. This will reduce the stress of the students and help them in better preparations for the examinations,” CBSE tweeted.

The board further said that, no school staff who has worked in morning shift will be given duty in afternoon shift following safety guidelines in the view of COVID-19.

After the announcement, the board uploaded the date sheet on its official website cbse.nic.in.

The board examinations, which are scheduled to begin from May 4 will end on June 7 for class 10 students and June 10 for class 12 students.

This year, due to the pandemic, the syllabus for both class 10 and 12 exams has been reduced by 30 per cent and the exam paper will have 33 per cent internal choice questions.

The schools across the country will conduct the practical examination for classes 10, 12 from March 1 and the results of the board exams will be announced by July 15.

Earlier this month, the CBSE had announced that board exams in 2021 will be conducted in offline mode and not online with strict compliance with COVID-19 appropriate behavior.
