Srinagar, Apr 4 (NVI): Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on Saturday reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir, and stressed the need for integrated multi-domain readiness to tackle evolving security challenges.
During his visit to the Chinar Corps, the CDS was briefed on the prevailing security landscape and operational posture along the LoC, officials said. He commended the formation for its high standards of operational preparedness and professionalism.
At Baramulla, Chauhan was also apprised of future force application and the induction of advanced technologies aimed at enhancing combat effectiveness.
Addressing officers, the CDS said the nature of warfare is undergoing a significant transformation, necessitating a shift from a domain-centric approach to integrated multi-domain operations. He emphasised that seamless coordination across land, air, maritime, cyber, space and cognitive domains is essential for achieving decisive outcomes.
Chauhan called for greater jointness among the armed forces, including enhanced joint training, harmonisation of doctrines and the development of interoperable command and control structures to ensure synchronised operations across all domains.
He also highlighted the need for a comprehensive roadmap to counter emerging threats through technological adaptation, cognitive resilience and integrated preparedness, underscoring that future challenges require a unified national approach backed by innovation and foresight.
The CDS urged personnel to maintain operational excellence and remain prepared to effectively deal with the full spectrum of future conflicts.
During the visit, he also interacted with civil administration officials and other stakeholders in Baramulla, and reviewed ongoing efforts towards nation-building, officials added.(NVI)
