Pulwama, Nov 25 (NVI): The Tral Premier League (TPL) successfully concluded its highly anticipated final match on 24 November 2024 at the Indoor Stadium, Bajwani.
The cricket match brought together communities from across the region in a vibrant celebration of talent, sportsmanship, and unity.
As per a statement a copy of which lies with NVI reads, the tournament, which began on 21 November 2024, featured 16 teams competing for glory in the spirit of inclusivity and camaraderie.
It reads, the final match saw an exhilarating performance from Shaldarman, who triumphed over Chankatar to claim the coveted Championship Trophy. Shaldarman won the toss and opted to bat first, with Uzair Faroq leading the charge with an outstanding score of 40, setting a competitive total.
“In response, Chankatar fought valiantly, with Sajid Shameem putting up a determined effort, but ultimately fell short as Shaldarman secured the win. Mudasir Kamtroo was named Player of the Tournament for his exceptional contributions throughout the league,” reads the statement.
Pertainly, the Chief Guest presented trophies to the winners and runners-up as a packed stadium of enthusiastic locals cheered for their favorites, reflecting the widespread support and success of the event. The Tral Premier League has not only provided a platform for emerging talent but also fostered a sense of unity and pride in Kashmiri heritage, it reads.
Notably, backed by the Indian Army, the Tral Premier League aimed to utilize cricket as a tool for social change by promoting inclusivity, dialogue and respect for diversity.
