Srinagar, Jan 9(NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today questioned the purpose and direction of the INDIA bloc, stating that the alliance should dissolve if it was formed solely for the Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to reporters, Omar expressed disappointment over the absence of recent meetings and the lack of clarity regarding the bloc’s leadership and long-term agenda. “It is unfortunate that not a single meeting of the INDIA bloc has been held for a long time. There is no clarity on leadership or the alliance’s broader vision,” he remarked.

He added that a meeting should be convened after the Delhi assembly elections to establish clear goals and leadership. “The INDIA bloc cannot exist just for the Lok Sabha polls. If that was the only purpose, it is better to wind it up,” Omar stated.

His remarks point to growing dissatisfaction and underline the need for the opposition alliance to reassess its strategy and maintain unity to remain relevant beyond immediate electoral contests. (News Vibes of India)
