Peshawar, July 23 (NVI) The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today welcomed the defiance of Pakistan Army’s orders by dozens of policemen in Orakzai district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to fight the Islamist militia.

It said the suspension of 42 police officers for refusing to fight “has shown that the (Pakistani) military institutions (Army and FC) have failed miserably in the brutal war against the Mujahideen, which is why they are trying to impose their failure on other institutions.”

In a statement, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said the Pakistan Army uses the police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a “shield” on the one hand and at the same time, pins responsibility of its failure on them.

“The police’s refusal to fight the (Pakistan) army’s dollar war is a welcome development, which shows that after the public, the institutions have also started to realize that the ongoing war against the Mujahideen of Islam has neither worldly nor otherworldly benefits,” the spokesman said in a statement.

“If anyone benefits from it (the war), it is those select military officers and the military establishment who roam around in bulletproof vehicles, away from the flames of war,” he said.

He noted that the The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has repeatedly warned the police, especially the lower class personnel, not to get involved in the ongoing war between the mujahideen and the military institutions.

“The police personnel should publicly withdraw from this war and arrange a halal livelihood for themselves and live their normal lives,” he said in a renewed message.

“It is a compassionate appeal to the Pakistani public to stop their children from being recruited in military institutions, because dozens of personnel are killed and injured every day in the fierce attacks of the Mujahideen of Islam, which the military institutions hide.

“So your children have no better future in these institutions. It is in their best interest to stay away from this war,” the TTP spokesman said. (NVI)
