New Delhi (NVI): The global count of coronavirus cases has reached more than 128.1 million, with over 2,803,000 deaths reported. Over 72.7 million patients have been cured of the deadly contagion, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
In the US, the total number of coronavirus infection has reached to more than 30.3 million, while the total number of COVID-19 fatalities have surpassed 5,50,000 in the country.
Brazil’s coronavirus cases have crossed the 12.6 million-mark and stand at 12,658,109 while the number of deaths has surged past 3,17,000.
Furthermore, Ecuador registered 2,201 new infections in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of cases to 327,325, according to official data. A total of 16,780 people either died from the disease or were suspected of having it but passed away before being diagnosed.
Meanwhile, Ireland will begin lifting its three-month-long lockdown next month, the prime minister Micheal Martin said on Tuesday, even if many of the restrictions will remain in place until May.
Turkey has recorded 37,303 new coronavirus cases in the space of 24 hours, the highest level since the beginning of the pandemic, health ministry data showed on Tuesday, a day after Ankara said it would tighten restrictions amid surging infections. A further 155 deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to 31,385, according to the health ministry.
In addition to this, Greece reported 4,340 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, its highest daily tally.
