Coronavirus cases exceed 51.3 million worldwide

New Delhi (NVI): More than 51.3 million people around the world have been confirmed to have the coronavirus, while the death toll is nearing 12,70,706, according to the Johns Hopkins University tally. Over 33.4 million patients have recovered from the deadly disease globally.

In the US, the number of coronavirus cases have surged past 10.2 million while the number of fatalities are nearing 2.40 lakh in the country.

Brazil’s coronavirus infections are nearing 5.7 million while the number of deaths have exceeded 1,62,000.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany increased by 18,487 to 7,05,687. The reported death toll rose by 261 to 11,767, the tally showed.

Iran imposed a nightly curfew on businesses in Tehran and other cities on Tuesday, as it battles a major surge in coronavirus infections.

Furthermore, in Lebanon, caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab announced a lockdown on Tuesday night that will begin on Saturday and last until the end of the month.

Mainland China reported 17 new Covid-19 cases on November 10, down from 22 reported a day earlier, the country’s health authority said on Wednesday.
