New Delhi (NVI): At least 19.8 million people around the world have been diagnosed with COVID-19, while the global death toll crossed 7,31,000. More than 11.9 million have recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
Brazil’s health ministry has reported 23,010 new cases of COVID-19, with 572 new fatalities, as the country continues to struggle with containing the spread of the deadly disease.
In Brazil, the total number of cases has exceeded 3 million while the death toll has hit more than 1,01,000.
In the US, the number of infections have crossed 5 million while the death toll has surged past 1,62,000 in the country.
Australia reported on Monday its highest number of fatalities. The state of Victoria recorded 19 deaths overnight as it battles a resurgence of the virus in Melbourne.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany increased by 436 to 2,16,327. The reported death toll rose by one to 9,197, the tally showed.
New locally transmitted cases of coronavirus in China fell to just 14 over the past 24 hours, the National Health Commission reported.
South Korea reported 28 new coronavirus cases on Monday, including 17 local infections raising the country’s total to 14,626.
