Coronavirus cases surpass 124.6 mn globally, US cases pass 30 mn

New Delhi (NVI): The global count of coronavirus cases has reached more than 124.6 million, with over 2,742,000 deaths reported. Over 70.7 million patients have been cured of the deadly contagion, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

In the US, the total number of coronavirus infection has reached to more than 30 million, while the total number of COVID-19 fatalities have surpassed 5,45,000 in the country.

Brazil’s coronavirus cases have crossed the 12.2 million-mark and stand at 12,220,011 while the number of deaths has surged past 3,00,000.

Furthermore, Ukraine has reported a record daily number of Covid-related deaths for the second consecutive day, as well as its highest daily number of hospitalisations.

Meanwhile, Belgium will impose fresh lockdown restrictions, shutting schools, hairdressers and non-essential stores.

Coronavirus lockdowns are to be imposed in three more regions in France, including the city of Lyon, the country’s government has said.

In addition to this, Turkey registered its highest daily number of new infections this year on Wednesday, adding 29,762 infections to its tally in the last 24 hours.
