New Delhi (NVI): The global count of coronavirus cases has reached more than 136.5 million, with over 2,944,000 deaths reported. Over 77.6 million patients have been cured of the deadly contagion, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
In the US, the total number of coronavirus infection has reached to more than 31.2 million, while the total number of COVID-19 fatalities have surpassed 5,62,000 in the country.
Brazil’s coronavirus cases have crossed the 13.5 million-mark and stand at 13,517,808 while the number of deaths has surged past 3,54,000.
Furthermore, the UK has reported the highest number of new Covid-19 cases since April 1 on Monday, with 3,568 new cases reported. A further 13 people were reported as having died within 28 days of a positive test for Covid-19, taking the total number of deaths on the measure to 127,100.
The Canadian province of Ontario is shutting schools and moving to remote learning due to rising infection levels, premier Doug Ford said on Monday.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s coronavirus taskforce will be recommending a tougher set of restrictions as the country battles its third wave, health minister Fahrettin Koca said.
