New Delhi (NVI): The coronavirus cases in India saw a jump of 12,881 in the last 24 hours, raising the total number to 3,66,946, according to Union Health Ministry.
The death toll due to the virus rose to 12,237, with 334 new fatalities being reported in the last 24 hours.
So far, 1,94,324 patients have been cured of the virus or discharged.
In terms of total number of cases, Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected state with 1,16,752 coronavirus cases followed by Tamil Nadu with 50,193 and Delhi with 47,102 positive cases.
Further, in terms of deaths, Maharashtra tops the tally with 5,651 fatalities followed by Gujarat with 1,560 deaths, ministry said.
The death toll in the national capital surged to 1,904 while another 17,457 patients have recovered so far, healthy ministry data shows.
The other worst affected states are Gujarat (25,093), Uttar Pradesh (14,598), Rajasthan (13,542) and Madhya Pradesh (11,244).
Apart from this, 1,65,412 samples were tested in last 24 hours and 7.78 per cent of them were found positive.
Meanwhile, yesterday in Delhi, Health Minister Satyendra Jain and an AAP MLA Atishi have been tested positive for coronavirus.
